We aren’t afraid of no ghosts

The past summer, Quince came up to me one afternoon carrying a dvd. “I want to watch this with Daddy” he said showing me the dvd. It was Ghostbusters. Originally released in 1984, this movie is now a classic.

He forgot about it by the time Richard came home from work. But I mentioned it to him that night after Quince had gone to bed. We talked about it, and decided that we were probably close to the same age as Q is now when we first watched it, likely on tv.

So Richard and Quince watched the movie one weekend afternoon. He really liked it, but said that there were a couple parts that scared him. Since then he has watched it a couple times. It was at this time he declared that he wanted to be a Ghostbuster for Halloween.

We did it, and it looks awesome.

I took care of the clothing, while Richard did the proton pack. I bought the shirt as a thrift store find  back in September. Quince loves button down shirts and this one happened to be brand new, at least I’m pretty sure it was as it still had the Old Navy tags attached. It’s pretty big on him, but my intention was to save it. After he declared it wanted to be a Ghostbuster, it just also happened to be the perfect color. The patches I bought off Etsy’s Winks For Days shop.  This is partly because I was having trouble finding a custom name one I liked on Amazon. The selection for the ghost one was also slim. I’m glad I picked the seller I did, the quality on these are great. Having his name really makes the costume look awesome.

His pack is a combination of a backpack we picked up cheap at Goodwill, also the only item purchased for the pack, and what was the back of his Lego brick costume. Added touches include the blue light ring and led strip lights we had hanging around in the garage.
