We have made it half way through elementary school!
If I had to describe the school year in a few words I would say it was a roller coaster. With more downs than ups. He did a lot of growing, both physically and mentally which no doubt contributed to that. But man, it was rough at times.
Quince did a great job with swimming lessons over the course of the year. His bottle rocket won first place in group favorite. He was a NASA guy for Halloween. November is when we got our very first chicken egg! Quince was really excited to finally find an egg. The first egg came from our Americana chicken. He was invited to help collect cans for the Fire Truck food drive in Sequim by Steve. He went ice skating for the first time ever when we visited Butchart Gardens for their 12 Days of Christmas light show.
He found and made a recipe in the rice cooker by himself. I only oversaw the cooking. Towards the end of the year, I’m glad we had offsets such as the Kids Marathon, Soccer and the Cub Scout overnight on the US Navy Turner Joy to distract from how hard school was and that Richard was gone at the end of May and into June.
