Since New Year’s our days have been fairly busy.
Quince and Aaron have both made it clear long ago that they are cousins AND friends. Because of this they will often talk about each other, ask to hang out or make phone calls and the like. It was only a matter of time before we had a sleepover party. One Friday night Aaron and Leaha came over for that. Here we are playing Monopoly Jr. They asked to both sleep in Quince’s bed, we let them try but that didn’t last more than 10 minutes.
Among other fun this this past weekend was watching Richard get mauled by small people asking to play, make paper airplanes, books and whatever else was on their minds. Unfortunately Aaron wasn’t here for this photo, but it was pretty cute to see them all so engaged while Richard read stories before bed. Honestly, the cuter scene was earlier that day. Richard arrived through our back door and was met with the 3 VERY excited voices of Quince, Aaron, and Vespa all asking him for more paper airplanes. Each one tugging a different way. I’m sorry I didn’t get a photo of that. It should be noted that Richard had made 10, leaving them all on the coffee table. Obviously that wasn’t enough for 3 kids.
Sunday, we watched Olivia while her parents did some work around the house. We have a small dog door which for us serves as the cat door. It was only a matter of time before their two black labs figured out how to use it. In fact, while Olivia, Quince, Vespa and Inara were all playing suddenly there was a dog in the house. I guess the lure of 4 kids excitedly playing was enough to convince one of them to see if they could fit.
Lizzy really loved our turtle tank and spent some time staring the turtles down. I’m not sure who was winning. Chrissy made herself at home.
Yesterday I received this photo from Bonnie, Quince’s pre-school teacher. Mid-morning he broke into a fever and fell asleep at the snack table. Obviously he wasn’t feeling well, but everyone commented on what a sweet moment it was to see him sleeping there. We felt bad, but the morning had been totally normal for us.
