Our trip started mid-day, after we ate some lunch. From our hotel it is only about an hour, plus or minus a few minutes, trip via subway. That includes the time it takes to walk to the station and changing trains. It’s very easy and convenient. We also had a very fun day.
We have been doing so much, Quince has gone back to napping some afternoons if we are on a train or in the car. This day was no different. Here we are on the Disneyland resort train, where he fell asleep just after we pulled away from the station. Luckily that didn’t last long and he got enough of a cat nap to feel happy again when we arrived. The place is decorated in a Halloween theme all month long. On the weekend, they have ghost town and extra festivities. We passed Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald on the way in. He didn’t want photos with any of them.
We rode the train around there park, which unlike California is a quick trip. Maybe 15 minutes to 20 minutes. While on there he saw tomorrow land and the space themed rides. Our next stop choice had been made. Off for tomorrowland!
First up, autotopia. Not only did Quince get to drive but it was a blue car! I used the foot pedal and him at the steering wheel. Pure bliss. I took GoPro video while he drove. Look for that after we return home. Since we met up with Richard, he has talked about taking him there and going driving. I admit, I would like to do that so I can be the car behind them. 😊
Our next ride was Space Mountain. He just barely squeaked the height requirement. If fact, I think he might have been exactly at the minimum. The workers were excited so they sat us up front, so he could see better. At first he didn’t want to hold my hand, but once we got going he did. I’ll be honest here, I wasn’t sure if he was going to freak out or not. He didn’t look like he had been crying or panicked when we stopped, nor did he cry when we got off. He did like the intro a lot. The planetarium feel combined with blast off readiness is was did it. When we spoke via Google hangouts to both Richard and Kami, he told them that it went in circles, mama said wee and that I held his hand. Both asked if he was scared, he had mixed responses here. To daddy he said yes, to kami he didn’t reply. When asked if it was fun, all times he said yes. However, he did not want to ride again. It is likely the lady behind us somewhere was more scared than he was, she screamed shrill noises the whole time.
After that we did another space themed one, where we rode in a pink spaceship. He was happy to control the up/down motion.
The rest of our time was spent mostly walking around, looking at sights and taking photos. We did ride on the carousel.
He could have rode this one a few times and I had intended on going back to it before leaving. The weather took a turn for the chiller side once the sun went down and without sweaters of some kind it wasn’t a good idea to stay much longer.
One last space themed picture before leaving Tomorrowland. Can you guess his favorite area of the park?
He didn’t want to go on any of the rides in Toy Story Land except this plane, which is only a prop. :/ I asked him if he wanted to get a picture with Rex the T-rex for his cousin Aaron, but the answer was no and the plane won out.
Cheesy photo time! Look, we’re statues.
He really wanted to do this, until he actually got wet from one of the kids across the way. HAHA!
Our dinner.
Before finally leaving the park for good, we purchased our memorabilia items. Quince wanted a t-shirt. It also happens to be their 10th year anniversary, so they had a bunch of stuff to celebrate. I didn’t notice at first but that is the shirt he picked.
Here’s our one last photo before the subway left the station.
